This collection consists of class projects aimed at historic preservation in architecture at the University of Kansas; the projects pertain to the residences, farmsteads, churches and public buildings in the Lawrence/Douglas County, Kansas area and include building plans, photos, and interviews with past inhabitants.

Overview

The Emmanuel Evangelical Church, Stull, Kansas, was a 19th-century structure whose site inspired many 20th-century occult legends. The church was demolished in 2002. This collection regarding the Church was a result of research done for a University of Kansas architecture course project; it contains newspaper clippings, drawings by the architecture class, photos and journals of students who worked on this class project.

Overview The Kansas Historic Resource Inventory collection documents the preservation and identification process of historic landmarks in the Lawrence community. The collection consists mainly of documentation, i.e. photographs, archival research, scale drawings, inventory sheets, etc., of all buildings, residential, commercial and religious in the Old West Lawrence Neighborhood (O.W.L.).
