The Alvah and Mary Shelden Collection contains their 1879 to 1885 journal of activities as residents of El Dorado, Kansas, as well as autobiographical and biographical accounts of their lives as early settlers and teachers in Butler County, Kansas. A typescript of their journal is included.
Louise Dutcher Johnson taught school in El Dorado, Butler County, Kansas during the 1930s. This collection of her papers includes lesson plans and school bulletins from the late 1920s through the mid 1930s, as well as personal notebooks and Bible study notes from the 1950s-1960s.
