Samuel Clarke Pomeroy letters

Overview The letters were written during the time Pomeroy was senator and deal with the following topics: biographical information for the Congressional Directory; requests for publications to be sent to individuals; and a reference letter. The majority of the letters concern moving the U.S. Land Office from Independence, Kansas, to Neodesha. In later correspondence he refutes charges by D. R. Senator Edward F. Reilly papers

Edward F. Reilly, Jr., a native of Leavenworth, Kansas, served 29 years as a legislator for the state of Kansas. He served one year as a member of the House of Representatives and then 28 years in the United States Senate. These papers consist of legislative records, including material House and Senate bill development and records of the Senate Committee on Federal and State Affairs regarding correctional facilities, as well as correspondence to and from Reilly.
