This collection of miscellaneous documents, written between the 13th to 19th centuries, mostly relate to land and property transactions and maintenance in England. The bulk of the documents are dated from the 16th through 19th centuries. The remaining documents concern legal and official matters, family papers, probate and wills, and accounts and business. The documents pertain to many of the counties in England, as well as some matters taking place in other parts of the British Isles.

An account book containing legal documents that records the history of the estate, household accounts, etc., kept by estate administrator William Webb for the estate of Reverend Richard Greene of England. The account-book runs from the death of Greene of Greatham to Richard I. Greene's death and the final settlement with Maria Greene (Richard I. Greene's sister) in 1794. Although the family is genteel and has income from investments and land, the income is very small.

This historical account of the church and remains of the manor house of Stanton Harcourt in Oxfordshire (Nuneham Courtenay), covering the period 1199 to circa 1800, was written by George Simon Harcourt, 2nd Earl Harcourt (1736-1809) in 1808, although this year that was copied may have been 1818. It is dedicated to the antiquary, Richard Gough (1735-1809), and includes texts of epitaphs by William Congreve, Alexander Pope and John Gay, and of a letter from Gay.

Balance books from a London trader

Overview

Account books of an anonymous speculative trader, providing yearly summary of accounts. Each volume covers a year, and contains a dozen accounts in fair detail and a list of 50 to 100 accounts showing net profit or debit. The "bottom line" is about £50,000. Cargoes largely consist of tropical produce; the trader also imported cheese and butter from Holland into England and had other investments.

Christopher Smyth, a gentleman of Northampton, acknowledges that he has a conveyance from Thomas Breton, an apothecary of Northhampton, and Robert Lloyd Breton, his son, for an estate at Winston and Pettaugh currently being occupied by Joseph Peck. Smyth pledges to keep the deeds for the Breton family. The document is docketed.

This collection consists of a single letter written by Duke Yonge to "My Lord," regarding monetary allowances for clerks and soldiers in his county in England, which appears to be Cornwall.
