Bishop Robert Mize papers

Overview Bishop Robert Mize (1907-2000) founded the Saint Francis Academy (then the St. Francis Boys Home) in 1945 in Ellsworth, Kansas. In 1960 he traveled to the Province of Southern Africa and was consecrated Bishop of Damaraland, where he served until 1970. From 1973 to 1976 he again lived in South Africa as a missionary to the Diocese of Botswana. Bourbon family postcards

Overview The Bourbon family collection consists of five “real photo” postcards sent between relatives in Kansas City, Mo. and Beloit, Kan. in 1906 and 1907. In addition to family news, the postcards mention photography and developing images on the postcard stock, a large prairie fire in western Kansas, a local explosion in Kansas City, and a photo of Swope Park in Kansas City.
