Overview A collection of nineteen letters written from World War I soldier David Lupher (U.S. Army, 137th Infantry Regiment) to his family members. Lupher, a resident of Lawrence (Douglas County), Kansas, writes chiefly to his sister Dora, describing his training at Camp Doniphan, Oklahoma, and his later combat duty in France.

World War I letters of Pfc. Walter F. Bopp

Overview Walter F. Bopp was born October 19, 1892 in Dallas, Texas to Swiss emigrants Jacob and Mary Bopp. During World War I, he served in its American Expeditionary Forces (AEF) as Private First Class (Pfc.) in Company F of the U. S. Army's 359th Infantry. The collection's twenty-five letters relate to Private Bopp's military service in France. Overview Personal correspondence of William W. Billings, a native of Arkansas City (Cowley County), Kansas while serving in the United States Army during World War II. The collection's 242 cards and letters date from 1943 to 1946, while Billings was posted on the mainland and later in Hawaii, and consist chiefly of letters written from Billings to his Arkansas City family members.

Writings and correspondence of Kenneth Reddin

Overview Kenneth Reddin was an Irish novelist and district justice in the first half of the 20th century, sometimes writing under the pseudonym of Kenneth Sarr. This collection contains versions of two of his works, "Sable and Silver" and "Another Shore," personal correspondence with well-known figures of the Irish literary revival and political figures, and printed materials created by Irish poets and writers.

Wyandot Nation correspondence, documents, and clippings

Scope and Contents The collection includes letters of Wyandot chiefs and principals of the Wyandot Nation. Also, there is correspondence about the Methodist Church Mission effort among the Wyandots involving the division of the Methodist Church North and South. The documents in the collection include several Wyandot land allotments to the tribe in Kansas territory. An item by item inventory is included in each folder.

Wyandotte County, Kansas District Court collection

Overview The materials in this collection relate to approximately 150 civil suits heard before the Wyandotte County District Court. Much of the material relates to the Wyandotte tribe as litigants, among whom are Abelard Couthrie and William Walker, as well as other Walker family members. Other litigants include firms such as Great Western Telegraph Company and Missouri Valley Lumber Company. In many instances the documents include all relevant papers indicating all actions taken and final settlements.
