This collection contains miscellaneous circular letters, telegrams, administrative forms, memorandums, war department related materials, and periodicals from Baker University. Most of the materials are from the first half of the 20th century.

Overview Jesse Milan, a longtime resident of northeast Kansas, was the first African American teacher to serve in the integrated Lawrence Unified School District #497. An active community leader, he later became an Assistant Professor of Education at Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas.
