Duke Yonge letter
Collection — Folder 1
Call Number: MS P358
Overview
This collection consists of a single letter written by Duke Yonge to "My Lord," regarding monetary allowances for clerks and soldiers in his county in England, which appears to be Cornwall. Yonge stated that the soldiers' operations he considers to be extortion. He notes that as the law is written it seems to him "ministering justice impractically" and that he has heard "of such scenes of [disturbing?] anxiety arising from the small allowance."
