Second Baron North, administrator, soldier, courtier, and diplomat. Son of Edward North (circa 1496-1564), First Baron North, and Alice (died 1560), daughter of Oliver Squire, who married in 1528. About 1547 married Winifred (died 1578), daughter of Richard, Lord Rich and they had 3 sons and 1 daughter. Grandfather to Dudley North (1582-1667), Third Baron North.
