Biography
Nancy Vogel, eldest child of John and Irene, recieved her bachelors, masters, and doctorate from KU and served as teaching assistant at the University from 1968-1970. She then taught English at Fort Hays Kansas State College from 1971 until her retirement in 2001. She still serves on the Board of Trustees at Fort Hays. Nancy was a President's Distinguished Scholar recipient in 1995.

The Vogel family lived primarily in Lawrence, Kansas throughout the 20th century. John served as a representative in the Kansas House of Representatives from 1963-1980; he and wife Irene and their children all attended University of Kansas for their higher education. This collection includes correspondence, newspaper clippings, and photographs concerning the two generations from 1952-2012, as well as some items from John Vogel's brother Edgar during his service in World War II.
