Recordings are composed of the governor's selected speeches, radio comments, and press conferences. Most of the press conferences prior to October 1976 were erased by the governor's staff.

Most of the recordings in this series are on cassette tapes. Many of the cassettes have been recorded on both sides of the tape. The tape side has been described in the recording title in parenthesis. If there is not a tape side described then there is either a recording on only one side of the cassette, or the other side of the cassette is not known to have a recording.

Most items are cassette tapes, unless otherwise indicated. Other media include micro-cassette tape, video cassette tape, and reel-to-reel tape.
