Appointment files contain the applications and many personal resumes of individuals applying for employment to any state agency. The files are listed by agency in alphabetical order, and each agency listing usually has an initial information folder describing the types and dates of job openings. The applicants are then listed alphabetically by last name and are stacked accordingly in each "applications" folder for each agency. Both those persons hired and not hired are listed together.

Some files, such as the Judicial nominations, are voluminous. Others are merely one page application forms. Finally, some persons are listed in the inventory and obviously were being considered, but no written application exists in the file folders.
