Stokstad wrote and worked on a variety of book projects throughout her career, including five editions of her monumental textbook, Art History. Because this textbook encompassed all of art history, almost anything was open to her interest. She correspondended with many experts outside her own specialty of Gothic and Spanish Art. She also wrote specifically about medieval gardens, medieval art, and the Scottish world. The 2023 addition includes slides that accompany volumes I and II of Art History.
