On blank versos of pages 16-17, author describes new government appointments; dates JP's for statute-work and the Circuit meets in Perth, etc.

On versos of pages 18-20, author provides notes of journeys and guests dating from June 19-October 7: went to Miggernie June 19; "Mr Geo Paterson came to Castle Menzies and I...came there on the...25" June 23; To Newhall in Angus to wait on Mr Mackenzie June 28; Returned to Miggerny, continued there till July 19 July 2; Mr Mckenzie arrived at Castle Menzies; stayed till August 9, when he went to Angus July 20; "L:Y M & I in company wt Genl Graeme & his Family went for Atholl House. We return'd"...October 7 (spending a night at Ballechin) September 27.

On verso of pages 21-24, author provides notes of masons' work dating from September 23-December 26. "James Reddie arrived at the Kirktown with other two Masons"--September 23. Hewed and built continuously from then on: steps for the Stair; the Porters. Lodge; December 1: "Masons having finishd the House Hewed in the afternoon."

On 6 blank leaves at the end of the printed text, the author describes activities in March-October: Sows Farmfield, Croft Gate, Poolfield, Hawthorn field, belting field, Gatefield. Crops: Lintseed, red clover, oats, barly. Gives amount sown, quality of crop. "Ploughd ... always going round and ending at the centre so as not to leave the mark of a Ridge." "These 4 last days the Work Horses brought home a Lime kill viz 8 Carts of the Lime unslacked and 6 Carts slacked." Some miscellaneous notes on these pages include "Mr Paterson says that the Common price for Lathing..."; "27 May. James Grinville came--J Samson went away...to the Kirktown and set out next day to Balgowen cor B alyowen?] Southward..,I sent a Horse to Balgowen with him"; "28. The Factor deliverd Meal &c to James Greenville...[gives wages]."
