Scope and Contents
"Eilis ni M" [Eilis ni Maelagain = Alice Milligan.] Subject: Offering books and letters for sale; my recent writings. Precis: enclosing O'Flaherty's Ogygia [1685]; Shan Van Vocht is sold, so take the set lacking v.1:1. Sending on approval Beltaine and playbill (will send the Yeats etc letters if you take Beltaine). Offering letter from O'Brien Butler who wanted me to do Cuchulain opera (I refused since Gaelic not suitable, but Seumas Cousins and Geo Coffey tried). I've not been publishing because my mother has been dying for 5 years (last year she, father, and eldest sister died: home broken up). my last was Sons of the Sea Kings. My poems of last spring: one published in New Ireland; but one long political one (the Occasion of a London Trial) to Mrs JR Green [Alice Stopford Green] has not passed the censor (but I've a few benefit copies for sale). Ruadhric MacArmuid [?].
