Memorandum book. Lieutanant General Henry Fletcher, 1779-1784
Scope and Contents
Mainly memoranda concerning the Fletcher of Saltoun estate, apparently inherited by General Fletcher from Andrew Fletcher in 1779: legal liabilities, crops, repairs and building, accounts, British Linnen Co. stock, tenants, "statute work" (i.e. roads)... A few military memoranda. A few agricultural notes. Notebook used from both ends. Phraseology indicates written by or for Lt. Gen. Fletcher. Mentions Lady Milton's annuity; Mrs Fletcher (Andrew Fletcher's widow?). Mentions the iron roller at Boquhan.
