Letters, 1843 - 1885
Scope and Contents
Incoming and outgoing correspondence; lists of ordnance stores captured and turned over near Vicksburg, Mississippi and Brownsboro, Alabama; a copy of remininscences about Christmas in Lawrence, Kansas; and a statement from 1885 signed by Isaac Van Hoesen regarding what his daugther Lucy Cornell Van Hoesen would receive by his will (apparently voided). The three letters were written in 1843 from Glasgow, Kentucky to "My dear sister"; in 1853 from Bowling Green [Ohio?] to "Dear Brother"; and in 1863 from Vicksburg, Miss. by Van Hoesen.
