The Smelt Money submissions, related correspondence, and promotional material appear to date mostly from 1995 and have been organized alphabetically by correspondent's family name, with a single folder of promotional information about the zine appearing first. Issues 1-12 of the zine can be found at MS Q69 and have been unfolded in order to preserve the paper on which they were produced.

Also in this series is a draft typescript of the short story "Wine" by McCrary, along with a copy of Evergreen Review number 81 (August 1970), in which the final version appeared (see page 31), as well as a bibliography of McCrary's published works and other writings by McCrary.
