Correspondence, 1944 - 1948
Scope and Contents
The bulk of the correspondence is from the summer and fall of 1945, directed to Commander Carroll P. Hungate from his family while he was stationed in Brazil, mostly his wife Mary Agnes but also daughters Mary Agnes and Annabel. The letters cover such topics as the girls' studies, household chores, extended family news, Mrs. Hungate's worries for her husband and their daughters, and other related topics.
Another significant amount is from friends in Brazil, mostly Rio de Janeiro, to daughter Mary Agnes Hungate, and these letters date from the summer of 1947 through the spring of 1948. They are more sporadic, and most of these letters were written by Célia [Braja].
This series is arranged chronologically.
