Aging Among Mennonites
Scope and Contents
Stull was a junior member of the collaborative research team for this grant-funded multi-year project. The Principal Investigator was Michael H. Crawford, a University of Kansas expert on biological anthropology. The study protocols involved a wide variety of community interviews, oral histories, genealogical analysis, and surveys. These methods were then used by Stull later in his career when he was the Principal Investigator for the Ford Foundation-funded Changing Relations Project and its specific study of Garden City, Kansas. The Mennonite study sought to identify typical health hazards for elderly Mennonites, and the various coping mechanisms employed by their communities.
