This is the largest series of the collection, largely consisting of correspondence and including materials related to Stansifer's home and family life, his education in Kansas and at Tulane University, as well as letters of recommendation and other correspondence from former students and colleagues with whom Stansifer kept in touch throughout their careers. The series also includes materials related to Stansifer's travel and interests in politics, art, bananas, and other topics.

Stansifer kept alphabetical runs of correspondence and topical files at various times throughout his life. These sequences have been retained separately as found when processing the collection. This may mean that a particular topic or correspondent may be found repeatedly throughout this series and elsewhere in the collection.
