This series consists of material related to Stansifer's research, primarily focused on Central America, particularly Costa Rica. There is also material related to other parts of Latin America and the Caribbean. It includes drafts and manuscripts, notes, and reference materials for articles and longer works written by Stansifer; grant proposals; (annotated) bibliographies; works by others on which Stansifer consulted; information about KU's Costa Rica program and history of Latin American studies, and other related materials. As an historian, Stansifer was particularly fascinated by the banana industry, and by the democratic struggles of the late 20th century. The series also includes research exchanges with some of Stansifer's doctoral and masters students about their wide-ranging areas of focus.
