According to Peter Palmquist's and Thomas Kailbourn's Pioneer Photographers from the Mississippi to the Continental Divide, S. (Sebastian) Bauer operated a studio in Leavenworth from 1865-1887, his son P.H. Bauer joining him and remaining in the business until 1900.
