To Malin from Cecelia L. Eichenberg, 1967 - 1992
Scope and Contents
Jane Malin and Cecelia L. Eichenberg (1903-1993) were close friends and corresponded over a span of 25 years. Malin and Eichenberg became friends when Malin was at the University of Houston. They shared a love for theater and the arts. When Malin moved back to Lawrence, Kansas in 1986, Eichenberg kept her informed of the Houston arts scene by sending her reviews and articles published in the Houston newspaper and other publications.
Eichenberg wrote to Malin about mutual friends, current events, politics, aging, University of Houston events, and television programs. She gave Malin advice and accolades regarding issues in Lawrence with Malin's mother or volunteering with the Lawrence Community Theatre.
Eichenberg moved into an assisted living community in 1987 or 1988 and passed away in 1993. The correspondence is arranged chronologically by year, but not necessarily by month or date. Newsclippings or other enclosures in the correspondence are in the same folder as the correspondence, often placed in archival enclosures.
