Appointment books, maintained by a Spencer secretary, for the years 1930-1960 inclusive (there are 2 volumes for the year 1930, one of which does not appear to have been used). Entries are brief or nonexistent for the most part, noting where Spencer was geographically and/or with whom he was meeting. For the World War II years when he was frequently in Washington, D.C. meeting with politicians and high-level officials, there is more detail.
