The Japanese Crane (Crus japonensis) an endangered species, lives in the eastern area of Hokkaido, Japan, and breeds in the far-east of Russia and north-eastern China.; The Whooping Crane (Grus americana) an endangered species, lives in North America where it breeds in northern Canada and winters along the Texas coast.
