The works include editorial articles written by Schmidt; guest editorials submitted by other authors; obituaries for science fiction writers and individuals important to science fiction; book reviews; and submissions for "The Analytical Laboratory," a reader poll to discover the most popular stories published in the magazine during a given year. These materials sometimes include handwritten corrections, additions, and emendations and have been arranged chronologically.
