General
"This shows a Buddhist priest. Five burned scars on the scalp form the basis for the statement 'once a priest, always a priest.' Four deep scars form a square, and one scar stands in the middle of the square. Forsaken or unwanted children were said to constitute a goodly portion of the entrants. Some superstitious persons believed that anyone who took their picture could there-after control their actions."
