Biography of Moses H. and Beuna Vista Dirks Voth

Moses H. Voth was born April 14, 1903 in Goessel, Kansas, the son of C. R. and Anna (Banman) Voth.

He was a supporter of Bethel College in Newton, Kansas and attended college there, graduating in 1923. Voth also attended the University of Kansas for a short time. He worked in a rock quarry and a farm in South Dakota.

Voth married Beuna Vista Dirks on June 6, 1933. She was the daughter of Cornelius and Nettie (Schmidt) Dirks. She also attended Bethel College and obtained an Associate of Arts degree.

Moses Voth worked from 1931 to 1933 as a teacher in the industrial shop and mechanical drawing in the Winona, Kansas school district. Later he taught in Independence, Kansas. He and Beuna wrote letters from college and from teaching positions, as well as sending letters from Buhler, Kansas and South Dakota.

The Voths had two children, Vionetta and Marvin. Beuna died at the age of 88 in 1996. Moses died a little over a year later in 1997 at the age of 94. They are both interred in the Greenwood Cemetery in Greenwood, Kansas.
