David Voth and Maria Richert were both born in Alexanderwohl, Molotschna, in South Russia, David in circa 1834 and Maria in circa 1837. They were married April 25, 1857 and immigrated to Kansas in 1874 with several of their children, one of whom was C. R. Voth. In total, they had 12 children. Four of them died in infancy or in childhood. Maria died in 1904, with David following in 1907.
