Photographers: A. C. Townsend in Springfield, Massachusetts; L. M. Rice, location undetermined; unidentified; A. G. Da Lee, Lawrence, Kansas; M. A. Kennedy & Company, Saunders Photo, Lawrence, Kansas. Subjects: Eight cartes de visite (and a tintype) removed (prior to Hollmann's acquisition) from a photograph album of the descendants of Amos and Fanny Lewis Crane of Suffield, Connecticut who moved to Lawrence, Kansas. Includes John Lewis Crane (killed in Quantrill's Raid in Lawrence in 1863), James P. Crane, Gurdon Grovenor (two portraits), Charles Grovenor (two portraits), Mrs. Ellen Crane Grovenor (first wife of Gurdon), and Fanny Grovenor. The tintype of Lucy Marie Bliss Grovenor (second wife of Gurdon) is stored separately in the collection with other tintypes. All are buried in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence, Kansas.
