Names listed on postcard include Frizzly Head, Wild Hog, Left Hand, George Reynolds interpreter, Crow, Porcupine, Old Man, and Blacksmith. Back of postcard is captioned "This picture, taken in 1879 in front of the Court House at Dodge City, Kansas, is one of members of Chief Dull Knife's band of Northern Cheyennes who were transferred from their reservation in Dakota to the Fort Reno, Indian Territory Agency in 1877. In the fall of 1878 they left there, without permission, in an attempt to get back to their old home, and against great odds reached western Nebraska before United States troops captured them."
