The English literary establishment: praises Lawrence, Wyndham Lewis, Rickword; sneers at Calsworthy, Humbert Wolfe, Eliot, Middletown Murry, Munro; slanderous anecdotes about Dolley (D'Oyley). "I am trying to raise you some money by getting off a couple of your stories... The Calendar pays well." and has offered to publish the Wayzgoose. Lord Olivier; Van der Post; Vines; Vine-Hall.. "Whenever I get the chance of snubbing a S. African I always take it now... It's exactly the way they treat niggers... We will go hack when they least expect us..." p.1: "My dearest William, You have been so good..." p.3: "The Criterion has become a foul paper..." p.5: "and mis-pronounce his name)... p.7: "book is bad... p.9: "...Yours with love Roy." Received by Plomer at Tokyo.
