Marshall's artwork was minimally processed by Spencer Research Library staff in 2023. "Folders" in this series, particularly in the boxes located at RH MS 547, may be sections of material, including notably disbound sketchbooks or what had previously been envelopes of small sketches that Marshall or his staff had gathered and organized together before donating to the University of Kansas. Items are therefore typically described in bulk and not individually; items remain in the order found when processing these materials. Titles used in this finding aid may come from the original grouping titles; if individual pieces of artwork have been titled, that information has been noted here when possible.
