Scope and Contents
This series consists of poems, articles, and other manuscript material created by authors and given or sent to Kenneth Irby. Many of the manuscripts are inscribed and contain letters and other items by the author. Additional manuscripts by others may also be located in the Correspondence series.
The dates provided for the folders are only for a general reference and may not be the date of the creation of the manuscript. If the manuscript itself is not dated, the dates provided may represent the inscriptions on the manuscripts, dated correspondence with the manuscripts, or from the postmark date on the mailing envelope.

Arrangement
This series is organized alphabetically by author. Occasionally, manuscripts by other individiuals were included with a mailing from a different author, in which case the manuscripts were kept with the sender's name and are noted here. Manuscript mailings frequently included correspondence and mailing material, which remains with the manuscripts in this series. Oversize materials, separated for their preservation, are also organized alphabetically and described at the end of this series.
The original dealer's list and sorting had miscellaneous material in the last box of the manuscripts from others. Where applicable, some of the material was filed alphabetically by the author's name (such as offprints). Gerrit Lansing's birthday material was filed under "Lansing." The submissions to Conjunctions (comprising many authors) were kept together at the end of the series. A few other groupings of material were kept at the end of the series.
