This series comprises Katie Armitage's files relating to the Lawrence, Kansas community from 1970-2016. Correspondence, both personal and professional, and Lawrence-related materials, such as documentation about local campaigns and events, comingle in most files. Files contain a mixture of correspondence, newspaper and magazine clippings, tour and presentation materials, photographs, and informational pamphlets.

As Armitage's original file names have been retained, there are instances in which the dates of materials within files do not necessarily match up to the dates in the file titles. However, the materials within a given file generally relate to the years mentioned in the title.

In the additional materials processed in 2023, Armitage organized correspondence by name or subject rather than date. The dates for these folders were determined by Spencer staff based on the contents. Armitage’s descriptions of the items in this addition are available in the accession file.
