This sub-series comprises files related to Katie Armitage's scholarship of the Civil War. Certain folders relate to the war in particular states, particular individuals who were involved in the war, and publications relating to the war. Numerous folders relate to the effects of the Civil War on Kansas and Missouri counties, as well as Order No. 11, an order that resulted in the depopulation and burning of Bates County, Missouri.

Files contain Armitage's research notes and essays, photographs, informational pamphlets, newspaper clippings, and both originals and copies of academic publications.
