This sub-series includes materials relating to publications by Chuck Berg on film criticism and history, including draft manuscripts, correspondence, and photocopies of printed works. The sub-series also includes research materials and secondary sources compiled by Berg in preparation for these publications.

Berg's publications include primarily articles published in newspapers and academic journals, but also include monographs, among them The Encyclopedia of Orson Welles (2002) by Berg and Thomas L. Erskine.

Following the folders relating to specific publications are alphabetically-arranged folders containing research materials about significant actors and directors or topics within film studies. The last folders in the series contain photocopies of academic articles and essays by other academics placed into individual folders by Berg and arranged by author family name.
