This sub-series, the bulk of the Publications series, includes publications by Chuck Berg on music and theater criticism, particularly from magazines and newspapers. Berg was an arts columnist for a number of periodical publications from the 1970s through the 2000s. He created individual folders for each column that he published, and these folders have been arranged alphabetically by publication and subsequently chronologically.

While numerous publications are represented in this sub-series, a significant number of columns for the following publications are present: Downbeat, Jazz Educators Journal, Jazz Times, Kansas City Star, Lawrence Journal-World, Lied Center News, Radio Free Jazz, and Topeka Capital-Journal. The end of the sub-series includes research materials for other non-periodical music publications by Berg as well as photocopies of the publications. These folders are arranged alphabetically by article title or by research topic title.
