Letter from Earl Edward Clive Powis (1754-1839) to David Scot: Capt. and Mrs Salmond arrived on 12 April; "Mrs Salmond is looking in great Beauty"; pleased that Capt. Salmond is made aide-de-camp to Lord Mornington, although they're leaving for Bengal immediately.The news from Europe is good; not so here. Hope to take Serangapatam soon. Three pages (1 sheet), docketed.
David Scot is probably David Scott, Sr., died 1805, a Director of the East India Company.
