Contents:
Have received letter from Carey dated 22 June 97 to 9 Jan 1798. He reports: Fountain ill; the natives not quite so zealous.
A Mr Fernandez (a Portuguese recusant?) has built Carey, Thomas, & Fountain a chapel at Dinagepore cDinajpurn. When Carey preached there during the Assizes, the Europeans were not unfriendly. The bools sent out in '94 have arrived.
"A fount for types of the Country languages has been set up at Calcutta" so Carey proposed to Udney that a press be set up at Mudrabatty: Powell is making it and men may be had from Calcutta to work it. Udney has been having copyist transcribe the Persic Pentateuch and Gospels for the press. Money for this must be obtained through London.
Mr Livius will be interested in this letter.
Would you tell Mr Dickens of Keysoe that I'll preach there Friday Sept 7?
