Scope and Contents
1. Indenture implementing marriage settlement March 23, 1786: paper support, two large sheets, written from Bombay, India. Executed between Robert Taylor of Bombay, gentleman, senior merchant of East India Co, and Jane (Fisher) Taylor, his wife, of the first party; and Edward Ravenscroft of Bombay, gentleman, and James Rivett of Bombay, gentleman, of the second party,

In which Taylor bound himself to pay £5,000 within 3 years after marriage to Ravenscroft and Rivett as trustees for Jane.
SETTING UP THE TRUST for Jane and the possible children of Jane and Robert; Robert to enjoy the income during his life; the principal may be lent out or be out at interest in the Public Stocks or Funds or in Government or upon Real Securities; or (after 3 years) the Trustees may invest it in lands in Great Britain for an Estate of Inheritance in fee simple; Jane to retain dower-rights in Roberts real estate and rights in his personal estate. SIGNED and "sealed" by Robert, Jane, Ravenscroft, and Rivett.
ENDORSEMENTS: a) Docketed on dorse of p.1b) "Sealed and Delivered (where no stamps are used or procurable)in the presence of [3 illegible names]" On dorse of p. 1.c) Indenture (2) written on dorse of p. 2.
2. Indenture enlarging on indenture (1) May 5, 1797, written in London, Great Britain? Executed between Robert Taylor and Jane his wife, of the first party; and William Ainge of Lincoln's Inn, Esq., and Patrick Craufurd Bruce of Fitzroy Square, Middlesex, Esq., and Albany Wallis, of Norfolk Street, St. Clement Danes, Esq. of the second party.
Robert has transferred to Ainge, etc., the following securities in the books of the Bank of England: £5500 in 4% Consolidated Bank Annuities; £5000 in 5% Bank Annuities; £6750 in 5% Annuities of the year 1797 (all these yielding presently £807/10/- yearly) and will transfer enough more to make the income £1000 in all; this principal is to take the place of the £5000 in the former indenture, and will be used for the purposes of the Trust. Robert enters upon a penal bond of £7700 that he will make the supplementary transfer.
SIGNED and "sealed" by Robert and Bruce; 2 further identical seals by unsigned lines. Tax stamps. No names of children or other heirs mentioned. Witnesses for (l) may read Josh Mathews; Gunput Wettoju.
