Scope and Contents
Letters from Lord Macaulay (1800-1859) to Dr. Maclagan, largely regarding Macaulay's influence or lack thereof on behalf of Dr. Maclagan and his son. Also touches upon political matters, particularly as they regard to India and the Bengal Army and Macaulay's own standing in elections. The last letter in the series includes a remark by Macaulay regarding taking colchicum the past two years on occasion. Most letters written from Albany, London, Great Britain; most are one sheet (may be 2-4 pages).
