Records related to Stough's involvement with the Douglas County Historical Society when he was on the board of directors and from his time as President of the Society in 1971-1973. Much of the material is focused on the Society's acquisition of and planning for the Watkins Community Museum, housed in the former Watkins Bank at 11th and Massachusetts Streets in downtown Lawrence, Kansas. Other topics include the general adminisitration of the historical society, including fundraising efforts and increasing membership in the society.
