Biography of James Anthony Froude (1818-1894)
Froude was an English radical historian and man-of-letters, politically pro-Slavic and anti-Gladstone. He was disliked by both the Liberal and Conservative parties. He was Thomas Carlyle's literary conservator and was Regius Professor of Modern History at Oxford from 1892-1894. Married twice, his children included Margaret, Ashley Anthony, and May.
