This series, the bulk of which located at RH MS 1093, contains historical scrapbooks, the majority of which were compiled between the 1950s and the 1980s by Goldsmith or other Kansas City Public Library (KCPL) employees to assist patrons in their research. These scrapbooks mostly comprise newspaper clippings, but also include photographs, informational pamphlets, some correspondence, and handwritten notes. The contents of these scrapbooks date from the early 20th century through the early 1980s.

Certain scrapbooks were not compiled by KCPL staff and date from the mid-19th century through the early 20th century. These scrapbooks relate to specific individuals, families, or events, and some are accompanied by indexes produced by the library.
