This material was acquired with the Townshend letters, and many of the writers or recipients are connected to the Townshend-Cornwallis-Ferrers-Wentworth circles. The letters discuss the Army, India, the East India Company, politics; reflects daily existence in all classes. Most were written between 1760-1820.
