Box includes general academic correspondence (1983-1995); Spreckelmeyer's application to the American Instiute of Architects (AIA) Fellowship with related materials (1999-2000); and records related to various professional architectural design projects Spreckelmeyer created, not necessarily in his capacity as an academic in architecture (1972-2013).
Design projects include renovations and upgrades to Spreckelmeyer's own residences in Lawrence, Kansas; design and construction of a cabin in Rustic, Colorado; pro bono work for churches and community organizations; residential projects for other individuals; and projects related to the renovation of Joseph R. Pearson (JRP) Hall to house the School of Education and the design of the Hall Center for the Humanities, both on the University of Kansas campus. Records related to these projects may include photographs and slides, architectural drawings, publicity and newspaper clippings, progress reports, correspondence, research on materials and design ideas, budgets, and other planning documentation.
