Kenneth A. and Helen F. Spencer Foundation Records, 1949 - 1982
Scope and Contents
This series includes the Spencer Foundation's articles of incorporation, bylaws, minutes, financial and investment records, regulations, correspondence, legal documents, records of gift commitments and payments, tax and audit records, and records of the Foundation's 1979 dissolution. The series consists largely of records of Foundation gifts ("Contributions"), arranged alphabetically by name of recipient. Sub-arrangement includes invoices, blueprints, clippings, groundbreaking and dedication programs, and correspondence. Boxes 28-30 contain framed certificates, plaques, statuettes, and medallions awarded Mrs. Spencer in gratitude for Foundation gifts.
With various papers in this series are related photographs, identified by notes. In Box 30 are bulkier souvenir albums and portfolios regarding Foundation-funded projects and dedication ceremonies (photographs included). Albums that contain only photographs are at call number RH MS-P 542 with personal photographs.
