Scope and Contents

"Questions which I should like to ask Mr Bernard Shaw" from L.P. Bryant. Includes 1 sheet of 5 questions on politics (Irish and international), culture, and literature, beginning "1. Do you agree with the statement of Mr Harold Child that the fact of your Dublin birth may safely be ignored..." Manuscript answer by each question and signed: "G. Bernard Shaw. Malvern 23/8/29." [P.S. O'Hegarty identified the author as L.P. Bryant.]

The second and third items in this folder are between Shaw and Andrew E. Malone, including a letter and 7 pages of typed questions on Irish politics. These questions are based on the first set of questions: "1. Three years ago you said: I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE FUTURE OF IRELAND..." The questionnaire was cut up, each question pasted onto a separate sheet on which was typed a lengthy answer, heavily corrected by hand. Each sheet is initialed GBS, and the last sheet is signed "G. Bernard Shaw, Malvern, 7th August 1932."
